If there were one word in the dictionary that would aptly describe Gwendolyn Cook that word would be “compassionate”. Compassionate when caring for others, to assist them in their walk in life with body, mind and spirit adjustments toward a rewarding life.

In Bronx, New York at the tender age of eight, Gwendolyn began demonstrating her compassion to care for others.   A senior neighbor that was confined to a wheel chair due to a stroke caught Gwendolyn’s attention; with her parent’s permission she befriended this person, to push her to the park on some week-ends.  Spending time with her handicapped neighbor taught Gwendolyn a lesson; you can provide joy and fulfillment to a person’s life by being present with them.   The body, mind, and spirit rejoice because out of pain and isolation, you begin to feel whole.

Gwendolyn’s compassion in caring for others is evident in her massage work; she consults with clients to determine an effective plan of bodywork to relax and or ease their pain and discomfort.  She specializes in:

Orthopedic Massage:  an integrated approach using several modalities to assist in eliminating myofascial and neuro-muscular pain patterns

Oncology Massage: Compassionate touch to treat cancer scar tissue and stimulate more blood circulation in the hands and feet

Thai Massage: A yoga massage that strengthens and stretches the body in various positions increasing flexibility and blood circulation to awaken all body systems

Prenatal Massage: Body massage with special care and concerns for the baby and mother

Other sessions offered: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Reiki and Chair Massage
